SINGING VALENTINES

A NEW BLUE CLASSIC & A YALE TRADITION

Valentines are closed for 2019! Check back in 2020!

New Blue's singing valentines are the perfect way to tell family, significant others, roommates, professors, or secret crushes that you really care! We'll run anywhere on Yale's campus or the immediate New Haven area to deliver these romantic or funny quartets (plus flowers). If your special someone is a little farther away, we can deliver your quartet over a telephone or Skype call.

Song Lyrics and Audio Samples

I Only Have Eyes for You
(classic, sincere)
Are the stars out tonight?
I don't know if it's cloudy or bright
'Cause I only have eyes for you, dear
The moon may be high
But I can't see a thing in the sky
'Cause I only have eyes for you
I don't know if we're in a garden
Or on a crowded avenue
You are here, so am I
Maybe millions of people go by
But they all disappear from view
And I only have eyes for you

Ain't She/He/They Sweet
(cute, perfect for friends)
Ain't she sweet
See her comin' down the street
Now I ask you very confidentially
Ain't she sweet
Ain't she nice
Look her over once or twice
Now I ask you very confidentially
Ain't she nice
Just cast an eye in her direction
Oh me! Oh my! Ain't that perfection
I repeat, don'tcha think that's kinda neat
Now I ask you very confidentially
Ain't she sweet

East of the Sun
(romantic)
East of the sun and west of the moon
We'll build a dream house of love, dear
Near to the sun in the day
Near to the moon at night
We'll live in a lovely way, dear
Living on love and pale moonlight
Just you and I, forever and a day
Love will not die, we'll keep it that way
Up among the stars we'll find
A harmony of life, to a lovely tune
East of the sun and west of the moon

My Funny Valentine
(playful, soulful, romantic)
My funny valentine, sweet comic valentine
You make me smile, with my heart
Your looks are laughable, unphotographable
Yet you're my favorite work of art
Is your figure less than Greek
Is your mouth a little weak
When you open it to speak, are you smart
So don't change a hair for me
Not if you care for me
Stay, little valentine stay
Each day is Valentine's Day

It's a Sin to Tell a Lie
(embarrass your friends)
Be sure it's true when you say "I love you"
It's a sin to tell a lie
Millions of hearts have been broken
Do you know why
Because these stupid words were said,
like," I love you, I love you, I love you!"
But if you break my heart
I'll break your face, oh yes I will
So be sure it's true
When you say "I love you"
It's a sin to tell a lie
Be sure it's true, when you say "I love you"
If you break my heart, you die
So be sure, be sure it's true
when you say "I love you"-
it's a sin to tell a lie!

(Just) Keep on Doin' What You're Doin'
(jazzy, playful, romantic)
Just keep on doin' what you're doin'
Although you're leading me to ruin
Just keep on doin' what you're doin'
'Cause I love what you're doin' to me.
Just keep on doin' what you're doin'
Although I know there's trouble brewin'
Just keep on doin' what you're doin'
'Cause I love what you're doin' to me
I love what you're doin' to me
